How it Works

First, you need to tell us your name and your email address (your details will not be passed on to any third party). You then ask your question which is delivered electronically to a Chartered Surveyor who is a member of the RICS and who will personally correspond with you to achieve a conclusion. The surveyor may ask for additional information before he provides his final response.

The more information you can provide us with, the more likely the surveyor can provide the advice you need so it would be useful if you could describe the construction of your house, how old it is etc.

Where possible, you should upload photographs of the problem areas and ideally external views of the building. In most cases, photographs are vital. Factors that are seemingly irrelevant can prove crucial; for example, if you are concerned about dampness, we need to consider all possible causes such as penetrating rain, condensation, rising damp, leaking pipes etc. If you have plastic double glazing, we will be considering the likelihood of condensation, but if you have old Victorian sash windows and open fireplaces that provide natural ventilation, then condensation is less likely.

Once you and the surveyor are satisfied the question you asked has been resolved, you will be sent an invoice for £40 which has a link straight to Paypal. You do not need a PayPal account to pay your bill, you can use your credit or debit card.

We guarantee that we are providing completely independent advice; we are not trying to sell you a product or further services; you ask – we answer and that’s it.
